Fencing six feet or less in height requires a zoning permit (application below), but no required construction permit unless the fence is part of a pool enclosure. Any fencing over six feet in height will involve a construction permit and most likely a Zoning variance. Once you have determined the type of fence and its proposed location it is recommended to contact the building department to begin the approval process. Academy Fence Company, a leading fence contractor has installed hundreds of fence jobs in New Providence and in the surrounding Union County Area since the 1960’s. Below you will see some photos of various styles of our work including deer fence, wood fence, aluminum fence and more.
